What Window Tint Does For a Tesla
Tesla built these cars around glass. There is the roof, there is a windshield that sweeps back further than most, and there is the side and rear glass every car has. We tint all of it, glass roof included. In the Texas sun all of that surface area turns the cabin into a greenhouse, and the climate control spends the drive trying to undo what the sun is doing through the windows. Ceramic film stops a large share of that heat at the glass instead of letting the air conditioning chase it.
We install ceramic film in two grades. Our standard ceramic rejects about 85% of the sun’s infrared heat and our nano-ceramic rejects up to 98%. Both block 99% of ultraviolet light. Neither one contains any metal, so neither interferes with your phone, your GPS, your toll tag or your tire pressure sensors, and neither one ever turns purple. We back our tint for life. The full grade comparison is on our nano-ceramic vs standard ceramic page.
There is one more reason this matters on an electric car. The air conditioning runs off the same battery that moves the vehicle. Every bit of heat that never makes it through the glass is heat the climate control does not have to remove, and cooling a cabin that started cooler takes less work than cooling one that has been baking in a parking lot since morning. We will not put a number on that, because it depends on the car, the weather and the drive, but the direction of it is not in question.
Pricing is the same for a Tesla as it is for anything else we tint. Standard ceramic starts at $135 for the front two windows. Sides and rear glass is $300 in standard ceramic or $400 in nano-ceramic. Full vehicle, windshield included, is $400 in standard ceramic or $500 in nano-ceramic. That full vehicle package includes a legal ceramic windshield film, so no glass is left untreated. Every package and shade option sits on our window tinting page, and the rest of what we do for Tesla owners, film and coatings included, is on our Tesla services page.

How Does Your Tesla Benefit With Ceramic Tint
A Cabin That Stops Cooking
More glass means more heat coming in. Standard ceramic turns away about 85% of the infrared and nano-ceramic up to 98%, so the car you get back into after work is not the one you have been getting back into all summer.
Less Work For the Battery
Climate control on an electric car draws from the same battery that drives it. Heat stopped at the glass is heat the air conditioning never has to pull out of the cabin.
Nothing Metallic Near the Electronics
Neither grade of our film contains any metal. Phone signal, GPS, toll tags and tire pressure sensors all behave exactly the way they did before the film went on.
99% of the UV Off the Interior
Ultraviolet light is what fades trim, dries out seats and reaches your arm on every drive. Both grades block 99% of it, and film that never turns purple means the glass still looks right years later.
How We Install Tesla Window Tint
Every piece of glass is cleaned and decontaminated before any film is cut, because anything left on the glass sits under the film permanently. The film is then cut to your exact vehicle by machine rather than trimmed on the glass with a blade, so nothing sharp goes near your glass or your defroster lines.
Most vehicles are finished the same day. Film needs a few days to fully cure afterward, so leave the windows up during that time. Any light haze or small pockets of moisture you see at first clear on their own as it dries. On a full vehicle package the windshield goes on with the rest, so the car leaves with no glass left untreated.
Tesla Window Tint Questions and Answers
The same as any other vehicle we tint. Front two windows start at $135. Sides and rear glass is $300 in standard ceramic or $400 in nano-ceramic. Full vehicle, windshield included, is $400 in standard ceramic or $500 in nano-ceramic.
Nano-ceramic if the car parks outside. Standard ceramic rejects about 85% of infrared heat and nano-ceramic rejects up to 98%. On a car with this much glass sitting in a lot all day, that difference is the one you feel getting back in.
It reduces how hard the climate control has to work. The air conditioning runs off the same battery that moves the car, so heat stopped at the glass is heat it never has to remove. We do not quote a number, because that depends on the car, the weather and the drive.
No. Neither grade contains any metal. Metallic films are the ones that cause signal problems. Phone reception, GPS, toll tags and tire pressure sensors all work exactly the way they did before the film went on.
Every window, including the windshield. A legal ceramic windshield film is part of the package, so the whole car gets done at once instead of leaving the largest piece of glass bare.
Most vehicles are done the same day. The film needs a few days to fully cure afterward, so leave the windows up during that time. Light haze or small pockets of moisture at first are normal and clear as it dries.
No. That is what dyed film does as it comes apart. Ceramic film does not, and we back our tint for life, so if it ever did we would take care of it.
Yes, and most Tesla owners do. We handle film, coatings and tint in house here in College Station, so the car goes through once instead of being dropped off at three different shops.
